We can't fix immigration without first getting control of our southern border—the cartels and human trafficking networks are running the show right now. Until we have actual security and can count who's coming in and out of the country, talking about legal pathways is just fantasy. National security and rule of law have to come before anything else, or we're just inviting more chaos and danger.
Pouring billions into walls and enforcement doesn't work—people keep coming because the legal system is so broken it takes a decade to get a visa. We need to create actual legal channels for workers and families, modernize the visa system, and deal with the root causes. Border security without workable legal options just guarantees more illegal crossings, not fewer.
